This timeline illustrates the entire process from placing an order to installing PortworX™
 
 
 
 
SYSTEM VALIDATION
PortworX™ minimum requirements:
  • Microsoft Windows Web Server 2003
  • SAPGUI installed on server hosting PortworX™
  • A licensed Terminal Service product
  • SE16 for data troubleshooting in test system in SAP R/3 test system

Approximately one day for our technical team to validate your current environment in the following areas:

REMOTE ACCESS:

  • VPN Connection
  • Terminal Services


SOFTWARE:

  • Network operating system
  • ODBC connector
  • Database - Brand and Version
  • SAP R/3 - release

SHIPPING - Day 1
  • Standard UPS 3-day ground service (3 days)
  • FedEx overnight delivery available (additional cost)

LOCAL SETUP PREPARATION - Day 4

Your site must be prepared to support a PortworX™ installation; including installation, configuration, backup and remote support.

  • Network administrator will make initial preparations installing OS on the PortworX™ server providing shared drive space of 10GB for PortworX™ backup and repository usage
  • Network access for remote user
  • Access to SE16 in your SAP R/3 test system
  • AHC user must have installation privileges on PortworX™ server
  • Firewall setup for PortworX™ webpage with default index page

SETUP & CONFIGURATION - Day 5

The installation of PortworX™ begins at this time.

Our technical staff will handle:

  • Installing PortworX™ programs and DLL's
  • Installing RDBMS SAP DB or ODBC compatible brand of customer's choice
  • Setting up database tables
  • Loading database with initial configuration

SUPERUSER INTERVIEW - Day 6
Our technical staff will:
  • Establish communications with client's super user to determine user master record setup and identifying additional views

TEST STANDARD PORTWORX™ SYSTEM

Our technical staff will ensure that the standard PortworX™ system is up and operational.

CREATING AND TESTING VIEWS - Day 7

Our technical staff will:

  • Create and test additional PortworX™ views
SPECIAL SETUPS

PortworX™ is completely operational at this point.

  • Customers requiring special setups can request additional contract work to begin today.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
Your PortworX™ system is ready for use.
Operational support will be handled by our technical staff.
